Del Taco - Go Bold or Go Home

"She Said"...

Mmmmmm.....Del Taco...it is breakfast time and I can't wait for lunch so I can pack up the kids and take a trip down to Del Taco!!! This is a big deal, I don't normally crave fast food because honestly there isn't a fast food restaurant I like well enough to crave...until Del Taco! J and I stumbled on this unknown (to us) treasure one day as we were driving down Secor Road in Toledo. J spotted it first since he is almost always the passenger and I am always the driver and we looked at each other and said, "should we try it?". The menu for a newbie to Del Taco is overwhelming especially when cars are behind you waiting to order too. We chose to get the # 3 combo meal which is 2 Del Carbon Tacos (One grilled chunks of tender marinated steak and one grilled juicy chicken plus a kick of California chili sauce, onions and fresh cilantro served in a pair of warm corn tortillas) fries and a drink, a few of their basic tacos and a Churro for the kids. We decided to eat the Del Carbon tacos first. I started with the chicken and J started with the steak. The chicken was tasty, the fresh cilantro really made the taste. The steak Del Carbon is even better than the chicken. So far so good to us! The basic tacos have taco meat, lettuce and cheese. The first thing I noticed with the basic tacos was the taste of the taco meat! It tasted so much better than the nasty taco meat at the other taco joint (read: Taco Bell). Add a little Mild Taco sauce and you have one great big kick! On one of my subsequent visits to Del Taco I have also eaten the Macho Taco. They don't lie! This is one big Taco! Loads of taco meat, spicy taco sauce, awesome fresh salsa (once again the cilantro just pops!), grated cheddar cheese and sour cream. Taco Bell has nothing on Del Taco!
"She Said"...All thumbs up for Del Taco. Now all we need is a few more to pop up around town.
